That time my dev almost got hospitalized

So, it was our first time doing a game jam. We’d had one before (albeit a private one), but I’m counting every second until we fully polish that game so we can publish it as well. Spoiler alert: Halloween is just around the corner, so...
On Day 3 of the jam, I had just finished working on our main theme when it hit me: There was no game over theme, no intro, no menu, no SFX NADA!I started sweating bullets but thought, “Well, at least the gameplay is do....” Nope. Things were breaking left and right for no reason. (That’s exactly why I gave up on programming.)
By the 42-hour mark, we had a barely functional game, and our dev had suddenly gone quiet on Discord. We started joking around that he had kicked the bucket. But it turns out he was alive! Although barely conscious. The 48 hours had taken a toll on him, and he looked and sounded more like a zombie than our poor little underling!
So we took a break. I panicked in silence. Our artist cried (not literally).
But somehow, we managed to wrap things up just in time, hopped in my car, and drove 15 more minutes to the live event in Aracaju/SE!
Luckily, there were no red lights and no one passed out in the car. Our very grumpy Game Designer / Writer / Translator / Composer right here hadn’t eaten in like 9 hours. The hospital was just across the street… but the McDonald’s wasn’t!
Thankfully, the awesome folks in charge of he event had brought snacks and I feasted like a starving king, proud of the little world they've just built. Which in turn, saved us from three consecutive fatalities. (Our artist was also dying of exhaustion.)
Game jams? Loved it. Would totally do it again. But next time I should get some snacks ready beforehand...
